Crew heading out after cleaning fuels away from the fire line in preparation for burn operations.

The combination of pulling fuels back from the line and burnout operations allow fire managers to set a perimeter to stop the Camillo Fire from progressing further into sensitive wildlife habitats, heritage sites, and private property.

The Camillo Fire is southeast of Mormon Lake, near Flagstaff, Arizona. Fires such as this help clean and remove down and dead forest fuels, increasing the safety for communities and the lessening the threat of severe wildfires in the area. Credit: U.S. Forest Service, Coconino National Forest.
