Copperbelly Watersnake
We spotted this copperbelly water snake at Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa. This species is threatened, with only a couple hundred snakes remaining in the northern population. These snakes are non-venomous and can grow 2 to 4 feet in length.
