Indian thunderbird Native American art inside the 1905 Hopi House, which was built to resemble a Hopi Tribe pueblo, at Grand Canyon National Park, which protects a steep-sided and winding gorge carved by the Colorado River across northern in Arizona.

The canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles wide, and in spots is more than a mile deep. One of several buildings in the park designed by renowned architect Mary Colter, the building originally served as an “Indian Arts Building,” a fancy name for a Fred Harvey Company souvenir shop.
