A carefully restored old Sinclair gasoline station in Snyder, the seat of Scurry County, Texas.
The small, triangular building dates to 1935. Two men, Franklin Bryant and Lynn Fuller, who specialize in restoring gas pumps and vintage soda machines, rehabilitated this Texas landmark, which closed about 1970. Out front is a sign noting the price of gas in the station's heydey -- 29.9 cents per gallon. Original image from Carol M. Highsmith’s America, Library of Congress collection.
