The Wyoming Territorial Prison state historic site in Laramie, Wyoming.
Run as a federal (territorial) and then state prison from 1872 to 1903, it then became the agricultural experiment station for the University of Wyoming after the state prison relocated to Rawlins. Portions of the prison's cellblock remain and are opened for tours. Original image from Carol M. Highsmith’s America, Library of Congress collection. Digitally enhanced by rawpixel.
