A rescued goat eats donated Christmas tree in Mount Airy, Maryland, on Jan. 7, 2022. Missy and David Saul, owners of Farm Sweet Farm, recycle Christmas trees by feeding them to their goats. They started rescuing goats in 2019 and received their 501(3)c nonprofit status in 2020. This is their second year feeding their goats with donated Christmas trees. The pine needles are full of antioxidants, minerals, and are a natural dewormer for goats that carries them through winter. As the rescue runs off donations, it also helps by cutting down on hay.
