Arlington, Virginia. A common scene in a room at Idaho Hall, Arlington Farms, a residence for women who work in the United States government for the duration of the war. There is a shortage of space in the laundries, therefore the rooms are usually festooned with clothes. Authorities say that hanging the laundry outside will make the project look like a tenement. Sourced from the Library of Congress.
