Melrose, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. One of cabins built by mulattoes on John Henry cotton plantation. It was originally the kitchen to the big house, later the smith shop. Built and owned by Metoyier and sold to J.H. Henry in 1833. Sourced from the Library of Congress.
