The Spirit of Detroit, a city monument with a large bronze statue at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center in Detroit, Michigan, at the downtown beginning of one of the longest streets in the world — Woodward Avenue — which stretches northward an amazing 27 miles to the city of Pontiac.
The statue, dedicated in 1958, was created by Marshall Fredericks, depicts a large seated human figure holding a family and golden orb aloft.
