The Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne, a barrier island town across the Rickenbacker Causeway from Miami, Florida.
The upscale community lies between two large beach parks with long, sheltered beaches, mangroves and tropical forest inhabited by birdlife, butterflies and loggerhead turtles. The latter park is home to the 1825 lighthouse, which helped steer mariners off the treacherous Florida reef, which stretches south from Key Biscayne to the waters off the islands to the south, called the Florida Keys.
