Historic reenactor Gloria Barr Ford, who delivers historic monologues outside the old slave (later sharecropper) cabins along "Slave Street" at the Boone Hall Planatation in Mount Pleasant, just above Charleston, South Carolina.
One of America's oldest working plantations, it has continually grown crops for more than 320 years. The plantation includes a large Colonial Revival plantation house (completed in 1936 to replace the lost original house on the site), several flower gardens, and this allée, whose trees were originally planted in 1743.
