As part of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Wildlife Services (WS) Airport Wildlife Hazard Management Program Wildlife Biologist Michael Pacheco's Integrated Wildlife Damage Management (IWDM) called for the collaboration of the 12th Flying Training Wing Safety Office, Civil Engineering Squadron, and Air Field Management to come up with an innovative anti-bird perching device that was attached to replacement Controlled Area Warning signs in the grass fields beside taxiways, at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Randolph, Texas, on April 23, 2020.

Hungry birds seeking insects or small animals perch and rest on top of signs and posts such as these.
