U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Wildlife Services (WS) Airport Wildlife Hazard Management Program' local Wildlife Biologist Michael Pacheco's use of Integrated Wildlife Damage Management (IWDM) that includes identifying trees which need trimming to reduce the desire of the white-winged dove (Zenadia asiatica) to roost or nest in the oak trees of the base housing community to help reduce the wildlife strike hazard at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Randolph, Texas, on April 23, 2020.

Pacheco's permanent position at the base allows him to maintain the program continuity needed in the 12th Flying Training Wing Safety Office, Civil Engineering, and contracting officials to have trimmers come and effectively thin the canopy. Military colleagues have periodic base reassignments throughout their career, taking with them the experience they gained at any given base. Additionally, Pacheco provides subject matter expertise, as well as Federal, State, and local regulatory advice and historical knowledge for Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Randolph, Texas, on April 23, 2020.
