Sunset Trail No. 23
Fall color along Sunset Trail, September 23, 2016 on Mount Elden.
The top of Mount Elden and the Elden Lookout tower can be accessed via Elden Lookout Road (FR 557), Elden Lookout Trail, Sunset Trail No. 23, and Heart Trail. The eastern ridgeline is turning, and the trees are peaking in the pockets and ridges below the lookout tower and on the northwestern face. Views are also excellent along Sandy Seep Trail and Elden Springs Road (FR 556).
