Smooth Ink Cap (Coprinus Atramentarius) This common fungus grows on buried wood, and is typically found on the edge of woodlands paths and old treestumps, often found in groups. This type of fungus grows to be 5-6 cm in diameter, and 5 cm high. Clumps of these mushrooms grow after a rainfall, most often in habitats such as vacant lots and lawns, and also in grassy areas.
