Aseroe rubra is a common southern hemisphere basidiomycete fungus found in Australia, some Pacific Island and New Zealand.

It is rare in the northern hemisphere. It is recognizable for its foul odour of carrion and its sea anemone shape when mature. It differs from Clathrus archeri (Devil's-fingers) which is larger and has gleba (spore-bearing mass) along the arms. Aseroe rubra has dark olive-brown gleba in its centre.
