Cooper's Hawk
If you notice an eerie silence in your yard, and there are no birds at the feeder, look around for the slender form of a Cooper's Hawk. The narrow shoulders, short wings, and long tail are all about maneuverability as it chases after songbirds, rocketing through tree branches and diving into thickets. An exhilarating thing to see - though it only lasts an instant!
