Ailanthus Webworm moth on Wingstem
Wingstem, Ironweed, and Goldenrod indicate the end of summer - a beautiful way to say farewell and usher in the fall. But look more closely: this flower is adorned by the equally beautiful Ailanthus Webworm moth! If they look exotic, that's because they are, but in this case it's OK. They eat invasive Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus), so they're helping us do our work!
