S.C. Civil Air Patrol and Richland County Sherriff's Department participates in ACA exercise
Members of the S.C. Civil Air Patrol and the Richland County Sherriff’s Department participate in an Aerospace Control Alert exercise with the South Carolina Air National Guard at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, S.C., July 2, 2013. The exercise scenario involved a simulated drug runner in a Cessna 182 that was intercepted by 169th Fighter Wing ACA F-16 Fighting Falcons and escorted back to landing on base where the perpetrator was apprehended by local law enforcement. The Richland County Sherriff’s Department participated in this training opportunity to help prepare them if an event should ever occur where an escorted aircraft is landed on a civilian airfield.
