Texas Gator. Happy Statehood Day Texas — Today in 1845, Texas became the 28th State in the U.S. (a young 169 years old). For the purposes of this post, we're just going to assume that the phrase "Don't Mess with Texas" was referring to big fellas like this gator found in Anahuac, TX.
