Heloise Crista’s “Aiming for the Mark” sculpture appears behind one of several decorative rocks outside Taliesin West, renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school in the desert outside Scottsdale, Arizona, from 1937 until his death in 1959.

Today it is the main campus of the School of Architecture at Taliesin and houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Open to the public for tours, the hillside facility drew its name from Wright's summer home, Taliesin, in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Already talented, Crista — one of Wright’s best apprentices — became an acclaimed sculptor. Original image from Carol M. Highsmith’s America, Library of Congress collection.
