A portion of the "Grand Ditch," a stretch of the Colorado River, just ten miles from its headwaters in Rocky Mountain National Park. This "ditch" is part of a grand diversion project that sends Colorado River water from the Rocky Mountains' Western Slope over the mountains to the Eastern Slope, where 80 percent of Coloradans live.
