What's The Frequency, Kenneth?
In the late afternoon I popped across to Beki's to see if I could shed some light on why she was getting TV reception upstairs and not downstairs.
Being a new build house I was hoping it was something as simple as the builders just not connecting the dropped cable to the back of the socket.
No such luck. What it seems is that whoever has fitted the cable has been a bit over enthusiastic and massively over tightened it, causing the coax to be crushed and possibly damaging the central core.
With a bit of wiggling we managed to get good reception on all channels except BBC1 and 2 which is a bit annoying. That's one for the housebuilders to fix in a few weeks I think. Original public domain image from Flickr
