A Great Day For Flying
Today really was a great day for flying, and Matt made the most of it, as he'd booked the date for one of his Christmas presents - a flight over Liverpool.
It was his first time in a chopper, and also in any kind of light aircraft so he had a lot of new experiences.
With no clue on flight path but a good idea of departing time, I decided to venture out to Everton Park which offers a pretty good vantage point over the whole city to see if I could get a quick snap of the flight.
Well didn't kick myself. Two helicopters passed at about the same time, and I did get the right one, and watched as it flew over Edge Lane, Prescot Road and Newsham Park. If I'd have stayed in my bloody back garden I'd have got a great shot!
Still, no matter. While I was at Everton Park with the 500mm on, I made the most of some of the seagulls shooting the stiff breeze.
Given how wildly I was being blown about and how shaky my hands were with that enormous lens, I'm quite pleased with this result!. Original public domain image from Flickr
