Keeping On Track
My weekend walks have featured a lots of railway lines recently, and today is no exception. Rather than a closed line though, this set is both very large and very active!
This was taken from Picton Road, and shows the tracks just east of Edge Hill.
There's a lot of stuff going on here, but essentially it all converges into two main choices. Everything in the left of frame to the Pendolino essentially converges and goes to either the goods line that runs north close to my house, or onto the historical Manchester line.
Everything on the right goes past the Alstom Train Care centre (think Kwik-Fit for trains) and then heads off to Runcorn to join the West Coast main line.
