McLain Garden
Located in Loachapoka, AL, the McLain Garden is a collection of culinary and medicinal herbs, some of which were used as folk medicine in the South. The garden is named because Mrs. McLain often grew herbs and medicinal plants in her garden near the Doctor’s office so Dr. McLain could make medicines for his patients when they were not available from any other source. An exhibit is maintained by the Lee County Historical Society. - 5/7/2020. Original public domain image from Flickr
