No backing cloth. Hand jwoven indigo-dyed pieced wool ground with polychrome wool and silk embroidery. There is no finishing treatment on the edges. Red dominates. Large center square pattern with 2 1/2" - 3" border all sides.. Original from the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
