Mantis face, wide shot
Hmmmm, this is another shot of insects gathered as we do pictorial biodiversity surveys of the proposed Maglev train sites. This could be a Carolina Mantid (it is, after all brown) but, on the other hand it could simply be a brown version of one of the non-native mantids. It was long enough ago that I don't recall. We Are Made One with What We Touch and See
We are resolved into the supreme air,
We are made one with what we touch and see,
With our heart's blood each crimson sun is fair,
With our young lives each spring impassioned tree
Flames into green, the wildest beasts that range
The moor our kinsmen are, all life is one, and all is change.
