Community health worker, Fatimatou, gives malaria prevention medication to a child.
Fatimatou Ibrahim participates as a community health worker in a campaign to distribute malaria prevention medication to children during the 2019 rainy season. Malaria-carrying mosquitos breed in water, making the rainy season especially dangerous.
Because children under five are at higher risk for experiencing severe cases of malaria, PMI and partners provide commodities and necessary training to health workers like Fatimatou to rollout distribution campaigns.
