1-87 IN M240 Bravo Qualification
Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI) qualify on the M240 Bravo March 25, 2021, on Fort Drum's Range 43. The M240 Bravo is a belt-fed, gas-operated medium-weight machine gun that fires .762 mm rounds. During the qualification, the gunner is assisted by another Soldier, referred to as an assistant gunner, who assists in reloading the weapon, feeding ammunition into the machine gun, spotting targets, and calling for adjustments to fire.
