YELL 7240: belt bag
Rectangular women's beaded felt purse with sewn-on semicircular fold over flap. Edge of flap and bottom edge of bag fringed with 7/8" long fringe with metal dangles. Face, sides, and strip near edge of flap beaded; design is predominantly light blue with geometric designs in red, white and black beads. A 1-3/8" slanting tear was mended on back before purse was made.
Sioux belt bag; could be attached to women's concho belts and were often used to hold ration tickets (Kostelnik 2000).
