YELL 14750: moccasin (2)
Pair of men's partially beaded moccasins with flaps around ankles and drawstring-type laces. Short tongue is hand pinked at top and fringed at bottom. Beaded in a variation of the traditional Crow "keyhole" pattern of the 19th century (Lostelnik, 2000). Large keyhole pattern appears at top center in vibrant shades of medium and dark blue, red, yellow, green, brown and black beads. A band of blue, orange, and white beads in regular geometric patterns decorates the top edge of each shoe from one side of the instep to the other.
