The Foust family enrolled just over 300 acres of the Foust Farm in a Wetlands Reserve Easement. The Foust easement is located in a unique floodplain ecosystem in the Lower Flathead River area. The wetland area is fed by warm water springs and connecting waterways. Here, you see a panoramic overview of the area. To the center and right is the operating farm. To the left is the wetland area that has been conserved through the easement and is in the process of restoration. The brown area is prepared for seeding to native species suitable to that location. The lighter green area at the end of the road has already been seeded to native, perennial species that support wildlife habitat. Foust Farm, Lake County, Moiese, MT. June 2021.
