Greene Street Bridge Painting
Contractors apply new paint to the Greene Street bridge at Town Common on Monday, March 2. The bridge has served as the gateway to Greenville’s South Tar River Greenway for 15 years after moving from its original location over the Tar River a few hundred yards up stream in 2005; the 200-foot long bridge was originally constructed as a memorial to Pitt County World War I veterans in 1927. In addition to painting, the Greene Street bridge updates will include LED lighting, replacement and extension of the wood decking. Photo by Aaron Hines / City of Greenville.
